  4. Cynthia Bazile's Outline

    1. The Starting Of Women's 1960's Fashion

1a. There were numerous of diverse trends of fashion in the 1960's.

1b. Culottes, box-shaped PVC dresses and go-o boots were in style. Mary Quant invented the mini-skirt, and Jackie Kennedy produced the French manicure with fake eyelashes.

1c. Blues, greens, and shimmery eye shadows were popular, and hairstyles were a variety of lengths and styles.
People were dressing in psychedelic prints, highlighter colors, and mismatched patterns. The hippie movement was another style that women had. Bell-bottom jeans, tie-dye, and batik fabrics, also in paisley prints.

    2. Hair Styles In The 1960's

2a. Women wanted hairstyles that were suitable for work, home and evenings without having to spend long hours styling their locks. Around this time, a large number of women were turning to wigs to grant their hairstyle needs.

2b. Wigs seemed to provide the solution that ladies were looking for. A good wig was able to help women look neat and put together, to have an attractive hairstyle without any styling efforts.

2c. Some of the women seemed to think that different styles of wigs allowed them to change who they were because their appearance could be so different. The wigs allowed women to look completely different without having to commit to a new hairstyle permanently.

    3. Shoes Styles In The 1960's

3a. Chunky high heels had ties or buckles on the vamp. And the new square toe was everywhere.
Red, white and blue became popular shoe colors along with the louder, groovier shades in the 1960's

3b. Women shoes and handbag were expected to match their outfit. Many shoes had matching purses. The old adage one black bag will match everything.

3c. If your our outfit was colorful, then you wore bright shoes to match.
Even venerable saddle shoes were fashionable in the the Sixties.
Whether the shoes were bright or boring, the socks completed the look. New in the 1960s, the idea of colorful stockings came with the shorter skirt which showed more of the legs.

4 The 1960s didn't start out with colorful clothes. They were dully designed and looked better on older people. Then little stores called boutiques that opened up selling cheap and colorful clothing for younger people. During the decade, women started wearing mini skirts, leather boots and fake eyelashes. Hairstyles even varied. The hairstyles that were there back then made women have a different appearance.Shoes came in all different styles and colors that women used them to match with their outfits.
